Dr. Ozat Shamshiyev
Shariah Advisor & Expert in Islamic Economics and Finance
Dr. Ozat Shamshiyev is an Assistant Professor at the Social Sciences University of Ankara (Department of Islamic Economics and Finance) and the Deputy Director of the ASBU International Center for Islamic Economics and Finance (ULIFAM). He also serves as the Islamic law field editor of the Turkish Journal of Islamic Economics (TUJISE) and the Co-Editor of the Journal of Islamic Economics, led by Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Mabid Ali Al-Jarhi.
Dr. Ozat has teaching experience at the Northern Cyprus Campus of ASBU and Saint Petersburg State University (SpBU), and has participated in several workshops and Shariah advisory activities related to Islamic economics and finance. He is actively involved in academic publishing and editorial roles in the field of Islamic economics and finance.
Research & Education
Dr. Ozat earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Contract Law from Necmettin Erbakan University in 2022. He completed his Master’s Degree in Islamic Sciences at Erciyes University in 2017, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Necmettin Erbakan University in 2013. He also holds an Associate Degree in International Trade from Anadolu University (2014).
He has authored and edited several books and published numerous research papers on Islamic law, Islamic economics, and finance. His primary research interests include Islamic law, legal theory methodology, Islamic economics and finance, and the Halal industry. He speaks English, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, and Kazakh.
