Dr. Habeebullah Zakariyah
Vice Chairman, Shariah Board at Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia & Senior Lecturer at IIUM
Assoc. Prof. Sheikh Dr. Habeebullah Zakariyah is a leading expert in Islamic banking and finance, currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Shariah Board at Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia. He is an active member of the Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS)
and the International Council of Islamic Finance Educators (ICIFE). In academia, he is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean (Academic & Internationalization) at the IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Dr. Habeebullah’s expertise covers a wide range of areas including Islamic banking
transactions, social finance, zakat and waqf, takaful and retakaful, Islamic capital
markets, and Islamic wealth management. He has published over 60 academic articles and book chapters in reputable journals.
With a strong commitment to education, he has taught numerous Islamic finance courses and supervised more than 50 postgraduate students. He holds an LLB in Shariah and Law from Omdurman Islamic University (Sudan), and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Muamalat from IIUM.
